RULES 2006
 

The Competition is open to pianists of all nationalities, born after January 1st 1976.
The attached application form, stating the programme to be performed, should be written in German, English or French and sent to the Chopin-Gesellschaft, Kasinostrasse 3, D-64293 Darmstadt by May 15th, 2006. Together with the forms, please send the following documents:

Birth certificate or passport (photo-copy)

Biography of musical career, prizes and awards

Documents certifying musical studies (photo-copies), references

Two recent portrait photographs endorsed with your name

Payment of the entrance fee of € 80, with the applicant’s name and purpose for payment, should be sent to one of the accounts of the Chopin-Gesellschaft:

Incomplete documents cannot be accepted.

Candidates who decide to withdraw from the Competition must inform the Chopin Society of their withdrawal before the beginning of the Competition. The entrance fee will not be returned.
As the number of participants is limited, a committee decides on admissions. The candidate will be informed of acceptance by June 15th 2006.

The competitors relinquish to the Chopin Society their rights on all auditions, on all pieces of works performed during the Competition and the prizewinners’ concert, for recording, copying in every technique or transmission by radio and TV.

The Jury will be composed of prominent German and foreign musicians, invited by the Chopin Society. The quality of interpretation will be evaluated on the basis of their rules, according to a system of classification by points. The decisions of the Jury are final and not contestable.

The Chopin Society will make pianos for practising available to all participants.
