Andrzej Jasinski wurde 1936 in Czestochowa geboren, wo er an der Musikschule in der Klasse von Stefania Borkowska studierte. Anschließend wechselte er auf die Karol Szymanowski-Musikhochschule in Kattowitz in die Klasse von Wladyslawa Markiewiczowna, wo er 1959 sein Studium mit Auszeichnung abschloss. 1960 gewann er den Grand Prix beim internationalen Klavierwettbewerb Maria Canals in Barcelona. 1960 - 1961 studierte er bei Magda Tagliaferro in Paris. Danach unternahm er eine rege Konzerttätigkeit aber auch pädagogische Arbeit, wofür er vielleicht am besten bekannt ist. An der Musikakademie Kattowitz leitete er die Klavierabteilung von 1973 - 1996 und wieder von 2003 - 2005. Von 1979 bis 1982 war er ebenfalls Professor an der Musikhochschule Stuttgart. 2006 erhielt er die Ehrendoktorwürde der Musikakademie in Kattowitz und 2007 die Ehrendoktorwürde der Fryderyk-Chopin-Musikakademie Warschau. Er leitet weltweit Meisterkurse. Zu seinen berühmtesten Schülern zählen Krystian Zimerman und Krzysztof Jablonski. Er war Juror bei vielen der prestigeträchtigsten Klavierwettbewerbe der Welt und Jury-Vorsitzender des Internationalen Fryderyk Chopin-Klavierwettbewerbs in Warschau in den Jahren 2000, 2005 und 2010.

Andrzej Jasinski was born in 1936 in Czestochowa, where he studied at the Secondary Music School in the class of Stefania Borkowska. He continued his studies with Wladyslawa Markiewiczowna at the Karol Szymanowski University of Music in Katowice, graduating with honours in 1959. In 1960 he was first prizewinner at the Maria Canals International Piano Competition in Barcelona. In 1960 - 1961 he continued his studies in Paris with Magda Tagliaferro, after which he embarked on a lively concert career and also began his pedagogical work, for which he is perhaps best known. He was head of the piano department at the University of Music in Katowice from 1973 - 1996 and again from 2003 - 2005. From 1979 until 1982 he was also professor at the University of Music in Stuttgart. In 2006 his alma mater University in Katowice conferred on him the title of doctor honoris causa, a title he also received from the Fryderyk Chopin Music Academy the following year, 2007. He conducts masterclasses all over the world. Krystian Zimerman and Krzysztof Jablonski are perhaps his two most famous students. He has been on the jury of the world's most prestigious competitions and was jury president of the Fryderyk Chopin International Piano Competitions in Warsaw in the years 2000, 2005 and 2010.

PROF. ELZBIETA KARAS-KRASZTEL, Polen (Warschau)

Elzbieta Karas-Krasztel studierte an der Musikschule in Lublin bei Prof. Mieczyslaw Dawidowicz und wechselte anschließend zur Fryderyk Chopin-Musikakademie in Warschau in die Klasse von Prof. Regina Smendzianka. Nach erfolgreichem Abschluss studierte sie bei Prof. Istvan Lantos (Moskau) und Prof. Istvan Lantos (Budapest) weiter. Etliche Auszeichnungen erhielt sie bei Wettbewerben z.B. in Athen, Moskau und Warschau. Sie hat in vielen europäischen Ländern und auch in Kanada und Australien konzertiert. Für Rundfunk und Fernsehen hat sie zahlreiche Aufnahmen gemacht. Sie spielt jedoch nicht nur Werke von ganz bekannten Komponisten wie Mozart oder Chopin, sondern widmet viel Zeit weniger bekannten polnischen Komponisten wie Paderewski, Zarebski und Malawski. Sie ist auch begeisterte Kammermusikerin und arbeitet z.B. mit dem Prima Vista Quartett zusammen. Für ihre künstlerische und pädagogische Tätigkeit hat sie schon mehrere Auszeichnungen und Medaillen erhalten. Die Künstlerin leitet eine Klavierklasse an der Fryderyk Chopin-Musikakademie in Warschau und an der Kunstakademie in Stettin.

Elzbieta Karas-Krasztel graduated from secondary music school in Lublin in the class of Prof. Mieczyslaw Dawidowicz and completed her studies of piano at the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw in the class of Prof. Regina Smendzianka. She undertook post-graduate studies with Prof. Victor Merzhanov, (Moscow), and Prof. Istvan Lantos, (Budapest). She was awarded numerous diplomas and distinctions at competitions such as Athens, Moscow and Warsaw. She has given concerts in many European countries, also Canada and Australia, and has made numerous recordings for radio and television, recording albums with music by Mozart and Chopin. She especially dedicates a great deal of time to lesser known Polish composers, performing works by Paderewski, Zarebski and Malawski. She also enjoys performing chamber music, e.g. with the Prima Vista Quartet. For her artistic and teaching activity she has received numerous awards and medals. The artist teaches a piano class at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw and the Arts Academy in Szczecin.
